Inspiring the Future: Tapestry Talks AI, Insights & Innovation at Langton Careers Fair

A few weeks back, Tapestry kindly got invited to a careers fair The Langton secondary school in Canterbury, Kent to showcase market research to students aged 11-17. Alice & I went along and were able to chat to lots of interested students, most of whom hadn’t considered a job in this space, or even knew it existed!

It was intriguing to see the variety of questions and curiosity at our stall. There were some who loved the insights we produce and the psychology behind it. In particular, the media research Tapestry specialises in and how that can influence the shows that are produced and streamed worldwide. The other half of STEM-based students loved the data-focussed side of the business. We were able to show them bespoke products such as DAISY and some of our segmentation outputs, allowing them to see which cluster they would fall into in the real-world.

There was a particular fascination with the rise of AI – something which here at Tapestry we’re integrating deeply into both our internal processes and respondent experiences. The students loved reading about The Great AI Divide, which sparked some great conversations about AI ethics or it’s suitability in education and the industry as a whole.

Our most recent venture: The Rift sparked a lot of interest too– looking at the increasingly polarised world of young men & women. Plus, the football-obsessed students were particularly excited to hear about our work in sports, especially our new Fans First initiative.

Overall, we were very grateful to be invited along and hope the world of market research and Tapestry inspired the next generation of researchers!
