Katie Twyman is one of our Senior Research Executives; she came a long way to join Tapestry in May 2024 – over 11,000 miles, in fact – from Auckland! This December, thanks to Tapestry’s work-abroad initiative, she was able to head back to the southern hemisphere for Christmas, attend a summer wedding, and carry on working! Katie explains how it works…
Email received: 2:00 am. Most people would call this a red flag, right? But not me—because that email is from my team in London, where it’s 1pm, and I’m working remotely from New Zealand. Me!
Thanks to Tapestry’s work-abroad scheme, I’ve been able to spend time with my friends and family here in New Zealand, soak up the summer sunshine, and still stay seamlessly connected to my colleagues.
The programme isn’t about just working remotely; it’s about trust, flexibility, and giving us employees the freedom to create a work-life balance that works for us.
Seven of us have already taken advantage of the programme – with one colleague currently in India – getting down to work in some amazing locations around the world. From time zones to teamwork, we’re proving how modern workplaces can create life-changing opportunities.
Our team is redefining what it means to work together, from New Zealand to London (and everywhere in between). If this sounds like the kind of company culture you’d love to be part of, let’s connect!
We know we’re not the only ones embracing flexibility. I’d love to hear from others. How does your company or agency support remote work? What are your top tips for making it successful? Let’s talk about what it takes to make flexible work truly work.
So, where would you work if you had the chance?
