Tapestry Trust’s Marathon Milestone

We’re happy to announce the first recipients of donations from the Tapestry Trust, 2025. Now in it’s second year, each quarter the Tapestry team nominate and vote for charities which they have a personal connection with, or awareness of. As a result, we distribute a share of the donation between the charities who have received the top three numbers of votes (four, if there’s a tie, as in this quarter).

This quarter’s worthy winners are Ardgowan Hospice, St George’s Hospital Charity Fund, Alzheimer’s Research UK and Coram.

Ardgowan Hospice. This is an invaluable local hospice for people living in Inverclyde on the west coast of Scotland.  Each year they welcome around 1,000 patients and their families, offering them a huge range of support from end-of-life care to supporting carers and helping relatives cope with grief.

St George’s Hospital Charity Fund Based in Southwest London, this charity funds gardens and play facilities and other research described as ‘non-essential’ to St George’s Hospital.  From funding innovative medical research and raising money to purchase vital medical equipment, their services offer irrefutable help, improving the experience in hospital for patients and families.

And the runners up are… sorry, cheap pun really, but apt because the two final recipients of this quarter’s donations relate to colleagues taking part in marathons…

On April 6th, Rebecca Munns will be pounding the streets in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, on behalf of Alzheimer’s Research UK. (Here is Rebecca’s Just Giving page.)

The charity sets out to educate the public about neuro-degenerative diseases, as well as promoting research with the aim of treating or preventing Alzheimer’s Disease.

A few weeks later, on April 27th, Jemma Ralton is running the London Marathon with her pal Abbey, fundraising for Coram. (Here’s Jemma’s Just Giving page.)

Coram is the UK’s first and oldest children’s charity which champions children’s rights and wellbeing through legal support, expert advocacy, adoption services and therapeutic, educational and cultural programmes.

We’ve all taken the Tapestry Trust to heart. Please take a moment to click on to each of the charity’s websites and donate, volunteer, or sponsor, if you can.
