Pride in Surrey will return this September despite a devastating fire, less than six months ago, which threatened its future, and Tapestry is supporting its journey all the way.
When a colossal blaze swept through the Surrey storage facility in Byfleet, in May 2023, the Pride in Surrey team saw everything they owned quite literally go up in smoke; this year’s Pride in Surrey event and the Team’s future were in jeopardy.
However, this vibrant LGBTQ+ phoenix rose triumphant from the ashes and on 9th September, Pride in Surrey 2023 takes off in Reigate’s Priory Park, as planned.
This has only been possible due to the incredibly hard work of the Pride in Surrey team, kind donations from across many communities, and sponsorships from organisations that appreciate the importance of this event.
We’re proud to say Tapestry Research are one of those organisations and will be sponsoring Pride in Surrey’s VIP area, Pride Plus.
We are also donating a stand at the event to the Samaritans, who give integral support to so many people in the LGBTQ+ community, and we hope this will enhance their outreach opportunities.
Pride in Surrey is pretty unique, in that it occurs in different locations across the county, every year. When the fire took hold, it wasn’t only equipment and merchandise that bit the dust, but many items from Pride in Surrey’s history, which were of sentimental value to the team, as well as Surrey’s LGBTQ+ community.
Join Tapestry as we celebrate Pride in Surrey in Reigate on 9th September; not only will some great acts be performing on their two stages; you’ll also be in great company and take pleasure in the parade through Reigate town; we can all have pride in being part of such a dynamic and incredible team.
